MAT (Mathematics Admissions Test)
With a mixture of multiple choice and long questions, this is a good second step to getting familiar with admissions test. These longer questions are designed to facilitate your thinking through the problem.

One 2.5 hour paper.
Test completed online.
27 questions in total.
Question 1-25 is multiple choice.
Questions 26 and 27 are long questions, with multiple parts designed to guide you through the problem.
No calculators allowed.
Content coverage is mostly Y12 Maths. You can find the syllabus here.
Speak with your teacher if you are unsure about any topics outlined in the syllabus.
An interview for University of Oxford is dependent on the outcome of this test.

Preparation
You can find all of the past papers for MAT here. It is still worth looking at other entrance tests (see below) even if you only sitting the MAT.
You should begin preparation in the summer holidays, if not earlier.

Similar to the MAT, there is the PAT (Physics Admissions Test) for Physics applicants. The format is similar to MAT and has a mixture of maths and physics questions. You can find more information here.
