You will need to answer questions based on real data in your exam. Some of these questions will be based on weather data from the large data set provided by Edexcel.
The data set consists of weather data samples provided by the Met Office for five UK weather stations and three overseas weather stations over two set periods of time: May to October 1987 and May to October 2015.
Please see below for a copy of the large data set, along with some general notes and practice questions (further exam resources are given in the following section). If you would like to explore the Large Data Set, click on the arrow in the top-right corner to open in a new window - you can then open with Google Sheets or download to use with Excel.
The following videos include useful exam notes on the large data set. Watch the two exam briefing videos before testing yourself with the 3-part quiz videos below. Review the linked summary notes and try the exam-style problems once you feel ready.
There are a few different weather events related to the dates and locations in the large data set that it are worth being aware of. You can revise and test yourself on them (as well as other useful tidbits) in this handy quizlet: LDS flashcards (shown to the right) - choose different study modes from 'Match', 'Learn' and 'Flashcards'.
