I hope to show how much dreams can affect our everyday life. The fact that our dreams, our ambitions push us and has pushed me to pursue my career path right now has made me want to convey that feeling of chasing that dream. The overall concepts of all the pieces that I want to convey is the idea of our dreams making us unique so with all of the pieces I convey that by using different mediums with the background and the subject itself. I wanted to convey the chase and the journey; on following a dream eventually coming to a close with the two sides of how a dream or ambition would work out. The vision of this body of work is to show different sides of my point of view on the journey of dreams how I could turn out, or how I would have turned out. 

I used the particular materials to convey the feeling of difference. BY combining two completely different mediums and two very different styles of my art to show the difference between the subject of the art and the world that we live in. The ideas I explored with these works is the struggle, journey, and the start of the ambition. I wanted to explore these ideas because of how I went through these ideas and wanting people to relate to that same feeling. The themes that can be identified in the work is mostly the journey of following the dream. I have always loved the hero’s story more importantly the underdog story so I love showing a start of someone’s journey in my art. The start of a clean state and the end of how someones journey will end. I also want to show the idea of my start, how I felt when I started a new hobby or got hooked on something. While I do want to show the positives I also want to show the reality, where my parents and other parents have forced their dreams on me. I want to show the reality of some peoples dreams and how they force it on their generation. While my parents did not put that idea on me, other people in my life during my time in Korea put that idea of my dream being worthless and not worth following. I also want to show the results of their journey, how they finish and their dream was perfect or their dream being something they will never remember, just a dream they had when they were young. These themes are the things I worry about, how I want them to turn out but also how others have turned out and the stories I hear from my peers.

I hope to convey with my way of exhibiting my art by showing how ambitions work through everyone. Since I’m not the only with an ambition I hope to use a sort of town scene to show that we all have something we want to follow. I want to also show that any town has a bunch of personalities, we are not alone and we are not all different so with the town scene I decided to have everyone drawn in the same medium to show that we are all the same just with different ambitions. I also want some of my art to be displayed as the start with one of my artwork to be above the town scene to show the very start of ambitions. Strategies I use to develop a relationship between my artwork and viewers is to show a familiar scene to have the empathy of the viewers. An example of the feeling being different from the world but being all the same with drawing the same media with all the subjects. The way I show my art and arrange it can show the hero story of all ambitions having the story start from the top and then transitioning to the bottom and ending with what happens at the end with our dream. I intend to have my audience relate to these struggles and hoping that they will become that person and learn the struggles of wanting your dreams to be reality.
