Vocational training, livelihood, skills/acquisition and other reformative activities are implemented to develop CICLs in becoming useful citizens of the community. Vocational trainings are designed to teach/train the CICL and develop skills that will help them adjust more easily when they return to their family/community.
Examples of these are auto repair, electronic, wood works or carpentry, welding and many others. Special activities like gardening, landscaping, haircutting, fish deboning, and other skills training are also conducted based on the interests of the CICLs.
The Manpower Development Officer (MDO) shall implement these in coordination with TESDA, LGUs, and Non-Government Organizations providing vocational training programs to provide clients the opportunities and to foster more positive outlook for the future.
Trained/skilled residents will be mobilized wherein they will be given an opportunity to further enhance and polish their acquired skills by engaging them to various occupational activities in the Center. The Center’s policy on the Mobilization of Skilled Clients provides the specific guidelines and parameters for this activity. (Please see “Policy on Mobilizing CICL Clients with Technical Skills”)
For clients who have obtained a National Certificate (NC) I or II, or Certificate of Competency (COC) from Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), will be recommended to work as Apprentice or On the Job Trainees (OJTs) to legitimate business establishments or contractors in order to put their competency into practice and provide an opportunity to renew their Certificates when it expire but subject to the approval of the Rehabilitation Team and permission granted by the committing court.
