Educational services to CICLs are provided through the implementation of Formal, Alternative Learning System, Tutorial, Open High School Program (OHSP), through the partnership with Don Eulogio de Guzman Memorial National High School.
The OHSP is an alternative mode of secondary education that uses distance learning. Schools provided a Self-Learning Module (SLM) from Junior High School to Senior High School learners.
Formal education consists of school-based learning, subject-oriented, uniform curriculum, and highly structured teaching methods.
Alternative Learning System is a parallel learning system that provides a practical option to the existing formal instruction. ALS is intended for out-of-school youth and adults who are 16 years old or older and beyond basic school age that need basic literacy skills particularly in reading, writing and simple computation. Clients were enrolled in this program in Basic Literacy Program, Elementary Level and Junior High School Level.
A tutorial class session is a teaching session given to one student or a small group of students. It is conducted two to three times a week by the Center Teacher and designated Teacher.
During the pre-admission, the Center Teacher will discuss the educational programs/services provided by the Center.
After the admission the Center Teacher will interview/assess the client for educational services intervention. Client will continue his studies through Open High School Program or Alternative Learning System. Parents/guardian/LGUs will facilitate the school requirements of the client (Learner’s Progress Report or School Form 9 and School Form 10, Good Moral and Philippine Statistics Authority (Birth Certificate). The “Patakaran sa Pag-aaral” will be discussed with the client before enrollment and sign together with his parents/guardian, LGU’s, Unit Heads, Center Teacher and the Center Head.
The Center Teacher and designated Teachers should prepare and submit Quarterly Functional Literacy Form of learners, reviewed by the Unit Head and noted by the Center Head.
The designated teachers should submit the Case Management Rating System per month and consolidated by the Center Teacher signed by the Unit Head and submitted to the Supervising Houseparent. Quarterly meetings were also scheduled to discuss issues and concerns of the learners and co-teachers.
