AP Calculus AB| Mrs. Robinson
In AP Calculus AB, I created a comprehensive flowchart designed to guide students through the process of selecting the most appropriate initial differentiation method for a given function. Based on the concepts covered in Topics 2 and 3, this tool organizes key derivative rules including: the power, product, quotient, and chain rules, into a clear decision-making pathway. By breaking down complex problems into a series of logical steps, the flowchart helps simplify the process of analyzing functions and determining the best approach to differentiation. To create this flowchart I used Canva.
Developing this resource strengthened my own understanding of calculus by requiring me to think critically about how different rules connect and when each should be applied. It also enhanced my ability to communicate complex mathematical ideas in a structured and accessible way. This project reflects both my analytical thinking and my desire to support others in their learning, transforming challenging concepts into a tool that promotes clarity, confidence, and success in calculus.

In my project on the Electoral College, I explored how campaign strategies are shaped by the structure of U.S. presidential elections. We utilized iCivics to simulate a real election. I analyzed how candidates tend to spend the majority of their time in highly competitive “swing states,” where voter outcomes are uncertain and electoral votes can shift the result of the election. In contrast, candidates often choose not to campaign heavily in states that are consistently aligned with one party, as the likelihood of changing the outcome in those areas is low.
I also examined the concept of momentum in campaigning, which refers to the increased support and visibility a candidate gains after successful appearances or wins in key states. This momentum can influence voter perception and encourage additional support as campaigns progress. Additionally, I evaluated the role of political parties, recognizing how they provide structure, resources, and voter outreach that significantly impact a candidate’s success.
Through this project, I developed a deeper understanding of how the Electoral College influences campaign behavior and voter engagement. It strengthened my ability to analyze political systems, think critically about fairness and representation, and evaluate how strategic decision-making shapes the democratic process. In the end, I won my election with 322 electoral votes!
