The Español Portfolio project had students demonstrate their understanding and comprehension of the skills learned in first-semester Spanish class. The portfolio consisted of 6 basic categories. Each section except for the final reflection was to be completed entirely in Spanish. First students had to complete a welcome page, with a brief summary of themselves. Each class period two sections of the project were completed.
The Portfolio required the following sections:
Each section required students to use what they learned to complete the task. The section most students struggled with was listening comprehension. For this section, students used the site Quia. Quia played audio clips and they required students to answer questions based on previous knowledge. Students learned that in order to speak a language fluently they must hone their Presentational Speaking, Presentational Writing, Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension, and Cultural Awareness skills.
