For the Personal Fitness class, students learned about the components of fitness.
Then using the components of fitness students decided which exercises they wanted to complete for that day. For example, if a student wanted to work on their muscular endurance then they could do reps on a Lat Pull-Down Machine. That exercise would improve their upper body strength as well as muscular strength and muscular endurance.
There are 5 basic components of Fitness, 7 in total. The main 5 are Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance, Cardiovascular Endurance, Flexibility, and Body Fat Composition. Muscular strength is a person’s physical ability to lift objects. Muscular Endurance is a person’s ability to lift objects for a long period of time. Cardiovascular Endurance is the body’s ability to exercise for extended periods of time. Flexibility is the body’s ability to move and bend easily. Flexibility can be tested by having a person touch their toes without bending their knees. Body Fat Composition is the total amount of fat on an individual’s body.
