PING Project

For the PING Project, students were assigned a develoPING country as well as a develoPED country. Students had to research almost every aspect of their assigned countries from the capitals to the crude birth and death rates. The PING Project consisted of 8 parts, and students were required to reach benchmarks for each one.

Assignment Analysis (What Students Learned)

The PING Project’s objective was to teach students how to analyze population data and how that data impacts human development. Students were also able to answer the following questions:

1. How does NIR affect a country’s population?
2. What determines a country’s stage in the Demographic Transition Model?
3. What determines a country stage in the Epidemiological Transition Model?
4. What does a low literacy rate mean for a country?
5. How can the Gravity Model affect a country’s immigration and emigration?​
