Deeply Rooted is the 10th grade, first semester PBL Project. The accumulation of this proiect was started by the movie "The Woman King," which was watched by the 10th grade students. After the watching of the movie, each class included aspects of not only culture, but nature as well, starting the creation of an interesting, yet fun class project. (This project was an individual grade, but it included the entirety of 10th grade working on each part).
For this PBL project, students created various artworks and even worked with elementary students on a project. We helped pre-K students create trees using their hands and other various materials. We created stained glass using shapes for geometry and painted them with different colors. In chemistry, we designed ions with a 3D printer to showcase different ions. In art, we made crystal symbols using borax and other materials. In world literature, we wrote poems about ourselves, and in Spanish, we created Cieba trees out of clay. Students also participated in dances in other Spanish classes. Additionally, students decorated the PBL lab with these various items, and volunteers even came to dance for us!
This assignment for our PBL project was completed with me and my classmates: Jason Thrash and Donald Humphrey. Throughout this slideshow, there are an array of questions about trees and the chemical and physical components of them. Our other classes were also used throughout this project (which can be seen in the slideshow).
