I wonder...How do my lungs work?

Hands-on modeling helps students understand cause and effect relationships, and how certain things must happen first in order for other things to happen next.

Keeping this in mind the educators of KGII planned an activity to let the children know the working of the human respiratory system (i.e., when you inhale, your diaphragm contracts to make room for your lungs, which fill up with air the way balloons do when you blow them up).

The children made a working model of Lungs with the help of straw and balloons. This helped the children to understand the mechanism of respiration and also remember the organs involved in respiration.

I Love My Finger Family

“Family” is a bond, a long-lasting relationship that holds it members together with the thread of love. Bonding does not happen overnight. Every second, every minute that you spend with your loved ones, bonds you to them. It is through a family that we learn the values of love, trust, hope, belief, culture, morals, tradition and every little matter that concerns us and the society we live in.

To sow the seeds of the importance of family early in children’s life the educator's of KGII conducted an activity where the children expressed their love for their family members by drawing the members of their family on their mummy's fingers.

This helped children to learn the importance of family and how family helps in building a strong future.

Mondays are Fundays....

Monday is a great day to really throw yourself into your tasks, and get ahead of yourself for the week. Tick loads of boxes on a Monday, and your future self will be most grateful. Plus, it means by Friday, you can take it easy enough, as you won't be overwhelmed. The educators of pre -primary try to make Mondays the fundays by making the children sit in the class with the things they enjoy having the most like caps and goggles, this not only breaks the monotony but also maintains the interest of the child in online classes.

Learning is interesting with Montessori Activities

“The exercises of practical life are formative activities, a work of adaptation to the environment. Such adaptation to the environment and efficient functioning therein is the very essence of a useful education”. - MARIA MONTESSORI

The teacher of Class Nursery conducted a few EPL (Exercise of Practical Life) Montessori Activities in the class like sorting grains, transferring water with a sponge, pouring grains & pouring water from a jug into glasses, folding a napkin along medials & diagonally, holding napkins etc.

Children enjoyed each activity and these activities help develop a sense of responsibility and independence.

With Craft and Art ...I learn really fast

In Grade Nursery, the teacher took craft activities for all the four introduced sounds (s,a,t,p) in LAR, parts of face in EVS. Children also practised all four formations with clay dough.

For sounds- children made apple trees, tortoises, paper penguins. For parts of the face children pasted cut-outs of eyes,nose, ears & lips to complete the face.
