Grade I- MATH

“Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations, it is about understanding.”

Counting by 10s is a really important skill in life. The Grade I students learned this with the help of Kidney beans and an ice tray.

In this activity, children were introduced to the concept of counting in tens and adding more tens to it. This activity was very visual. Children counted out each addend and could see the numbers set out in a row. They then counted the two tens, three tens and so on. Our number system is based around the number ten, mainly because we have ten fingers. Being able to think and calculate in tens has many benefits in mental addition and subtraction, estimating, problem-solving, among others.

Grade I-HINDI

Clay can be dirt in the wrong hands, but clay can be art in the right hands

Grade I conducted a clay activity for teaching the formations of ‘aa’ and ‘e’ ki matra. Students participated with a lot of gaiety and enthusiasm. The tactile hands-on nature of clay made children get engrossed while allowing for a high degree of creativity. Under the guidance and direction of their teachers, the little ones came up with beautiful formations with matras. Manipulation with clay provided an outlet for children to physically convey their emotions and reduce stress. They pounded, squeezed, rolled and blended the clay to make some words like किला, बाजा, किसान etc and displayed them on the boards. This outstanding sensory activity enhanced dexterity, gross and fine motor skills and helped to boost the self-confidence of the students. It promoted problem-solving skills as they experimented with the building techniques and adapted to changes along the way.

Grade I -ENGLISH

“Books are a uniquely portable magic,” said Stephen King

Students of Grade I enjoyed dressing up as their favourite story characters on the 14th of July 2021. They pretended to be the book characters and spoke about them to their classmates. Students dressed up as Barbie, Noddy, Harry Potter, Batman, Spiderman, Chota Bheem, Chacha Chowdhary. Activities like these enhance their vocabulary and literary skills. It also helps the students understand story characters and character traits.

कक्षा ३-HINDI

कक्षा ३ में ‘अनोखा जादू का खेल’ पाठ के दौरान छात्रों ने कक्षा में जादूगर की भूमिका निभाई | वे कक्षा में जादूगर की वेशभूषा में आए तथा छात्रों ने इस गतिविधि में भाग लेते हुए अपने -अपने जादू के खेल को प्रस्तुत किया | इस दौरान छात्रों ने अपने हाथ में एक पकड़ी जादुई छड़ी को घुमाया और आबरा का डाबरा गिली -गिली छु जैसे मन्त्रों का उच्चारण किया| किसी ने सिक्के गायब किए तो किसी ने गेंद , किसी ने नोट के टुकड़े किए और फिर उसे जोड़ दिखाए, तो किसी ने ताश के पत्ते से खेल दिखाया | इस प्रकार गतिविधि के साथ छात्रों ने कक्षा में सबका मनोरंजन किया और साथ ही इस पाठ का वाचन भी पूरा किया |

Grade III-EVS

“ Empathy is about finding echoes of another person in yourself ”

Empathy is the ability to emotionally understand what other people feel, see things from their point of view, and imagine yourself in their place. To let them know more about it,

Grade III students read about people with special needs in EVS. But just knowing about them is not sufficient. They also need to know how to interact with them. Mrs Rimi Roy Choudhury Bodalkar, a psychologist, a child counsellor, and a parent joined the class and explained to the students the right way to interact with differently-abled people. Students were told about the importance of empathy. The students actively participated in a lively discussion on the ways one should treat others.

The wonderful session ended with reading suggestions from Mrs Rimi to the students.

GRADE V-WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY

World Nature Conservation Day was celebrated by students by creating a short poem on nature. Students were given the freedom to express their feelings in a language of their choice. Given that, students created lovely poems and showcased their artistic side by illustrating their poems.
