HRDC Presentation
The DPS-HRDC Centre conducted a webinar on "The Best Teaching Practices", for mathematics educators across DPS schools, on 30 January 2024. This initiative not only provided a dedicated platform but also served as a dynamic forum for educators to showcase and model exemplary practices for current and future classroom teachings. Graced with the opportunity to contribute, I, Rifat Shubana Khan, presented an insightful session on 'Effective Pedagogies in Teaching and Learning for Quadrilaterals.' The webinar garnered the enthusiastic participation of over 200 teachers hailing from various DPS schools, creating a vibrant community of learning. During my presentation, I shared a reflective journey on the innovative practices implemented in my classroom, emphasizing key elements such as group activities, individual tasks, the integration of digital manipulatives, math lab activities and collaborative lesson planning. The audience responded with high regard, acknowledging the commendable incorporation of these activities and lesson collaboration strategies. The event not only celebrated effective teaching methodologies but also fostered a culture of shared expertise among educators, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of teaching standards across DPS schools.

Reflection on the Webinar
Best Teaching Practices in Implementing the Guidelines of NEP 2020 in Mathematics
The webinar conducted by DPS-HRDC offered a rich exploration of innovative teaching practices in mathematics, aligned with the guidelines of NEP 2020. Each presenter brought forth a unique perspective, showcasing dynamic approaches to engage students and foster deeper learning experiences.
From collaborative learning to hands-on activities, each session emphasized the importance of equipping students with skills beyond rote memorization. Ms. Shilpa Bansal's session on Profit and Loss set the tone by demonstrating practical applications of mathematical concepts, encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving. The emphasis on hands-on learning activities was evident throughout the webinar. Ms. Rifat S. Khan's session on Quadrilaterals showcased effective pedagogies that promote active participation and conceptual understanding. By incorporating interactive exercises and visual aids, the session fostered an environment where students could explore geometric principles with confidence. The presenters demonstrated a range of innovative pedagogies tailored to diverse learning styles. Mr. Rajarshi Shah's session on Fraction Visualization exemplified this, using creative tools and manipulatives to help students grasp abstract concepts intuitively. Similarly, Ms Suchi Naithani's exploration of Circles and Parts of Circle employed multimedia resources to enhance comprehension and retention. Each session effectively addressed the objectives outlined in NEP 2020, emphasizing holistic development and experiential learning. Priyanshu Tiwari's session on Mensuration focused on real-world applications, aligning with NEP's emphasis on contextualized learning experiences. Ms. Suparna Das's session on Ratio, Proportion and Percentage underscored the importance of interdisciplinary connections, fostering a deeper appreciation for mathematical concepts in practical contexts.
In conclusion, the webinar offered valuable insights into best practices for teaching mathematics in alignment with NEP 2020 guidelines.
