This type of experiential learning not only enhanced their scientific knowledge but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards environmental conservation.
Grade V learns solubility and the Universal Solvent
By providing Grade V students with hands-on exploration and real-world examples, a great stage for exploring solubility and the unique properties of water as a universal solvent was set. They gained a clear understanding of solubility while differentiating between soluble and insoluble substances. They explored water's remarkable ability to dissolve various substances. This activity not only enhanced their understanding but also sparked curiosity about the role of water in our everyday lives. It proved to be an engaging and educational experience for the students.
Grade VI Explored Concepts on Magnetic Effects
The Grade VII students recently delved into the captivating realm of electricity, where they explored various concepts related to magnetic effects and safety measures. The hands-on experiences provided them with a comprehensive understanding of electric bells, fuses, electromagnets and miniature circuit breakers (MCBs).
This practical engagement significantly enhanced their comprehension of the magnetic effects of electric current, allowing them to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.
The hands-on and practical approach to learning not only made the subject more engaging but also laid a solid foundation for their future studies in the expansive field of science and technology.
Fun with Batteries and Circuits
The Grade VI students recently engaged in a hands-on electric circuit activity in their Science class. The objective of the activity was to explore the concepts of conductors and insulators by creating a basic electrical circuit using common materials. The setup included a battery, conducting wires, and a bulb.
The students began by identifying everyday materials such as metal coins, sketch pens, rubber bands, aluminium foil, iron nails and ice-cream sticks. Subsequently, they connected the conducting wires to the battery and the bulb, forming a complete circuit.
This hands-on activity provided a practical and interactive approach for the students to comprehend the fundamental distinction between conductors and insulators. By directly manipulating materials and observing their impact on the electric circuit, the students gained a deeper understanding of basic electrical principles.
Toddlers Dipped Nature into Colours
A leaf printing activity was conducted for Nursery students. This was a fun art activity where children used paint to print natural objects. It allowed them to explore how printing works and also allowed them to experiment with colours.
This activity aimed to reinforce learners' understanding of the different parts of a leaf by labelling them. Not only is it a great way to get students excited about nature but it also encourages creativity and experimentation.
Curbing Carbon Footprints
Grade VIII students actively contributed to the topic of "Curbing Carbon Footprints at the Individual Level" through various engaging activities. Their use of role-play, PowerPoint presentations, interviews and flashcards demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of the subject. By encouraging simple yet impactful actions at the individual level, such as using reusable bags and water bottles, opting for public transport or carpooling and turning off lights and electronics when not in use, they promoted environmentally conscious behaviour. Their initiatives showcased a proactive approach towards sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Unleashing the Sound Beyond Horizon
Students of grade VIII performed various activities to show that SOUND needs a material medium (solid, liquid or gas ) for its propagation. The propagation of sound involves the transfer of this energy in the form of waves. The students understood how sound propagates and this helped them to appreciate how it reaches the ears, allowing them to hear various sounds in their everyday lives. Understanding how sound waves travel through solids, liquids and gases helped to illustrate the importance of a material medium for sound propagation.
The Toddlers Unleashed Creativity with Sponge Dabbing
Sponge dabbing is a simple and enjoyable art activity where kids use sponges to dab paint onto paper or other surfaces. It's a great way for young children to explore colours and textures while developing their fine motor skills and creativity. The Nursery students enjoyed the activity and participated with full enthusiasm.
