I am Nirupama Shah. Rangoli is my hobby and my passion. Since childhood, I had a keen interest in drawing, painting and the fine arts. I used to see my mother make beautiful Rangolis at the entrance of our house. This inspired me and I started helping her. The first Rangoli that I made was much appreciated by my grandfather, grandmother papa, mummy as well as neighbours. This made me do better and better.

Rangoli is an art form native to the Indian subcontinent in which patterns are created on the floor using materials such as coloured rice, dry flour,coloured sand and petals. It is made usually during Diwali, Onam, Pongal or any other Hindu festival. There are different forms of Rangoli from traditional to modern designs. These designs are passed from one generation to another.

I started making different types of Rangolis. My family appreciates me a lot. My husband Rohit eagerly waits for Diwali to buy me kilos and kilos of Rangoli. The happiness and the colours I see in their eyes makes my day. So here I am sharing a few designs of Rangoli with you. Let's welcome Goddess Laxmi and fill colours in our life with Rangoli.

Andaz Apna Apna (AAA)

There are a few instances when audiences, filmmakers, critics and other members of the trade such as distributors and exhibitors share the same point of view and the box-office failure of Andaz Apna Apna (1994) happens to be one of those.

Released 27 years ago Andaz Apna Apna (AAA) with its casting coup that brought together Aamir and Salman Khan, two of THE most popular stars of the era, and pitched them with a bevvy of comic legends Mehmood, Jagdeep and Devan Varma under a hotshot director in Rajkumar Santoshi was just the stuff that Bollywood dreams were made of and yet it failed to set the box-office on fire!

Yes, you got me right .....Andaz Apna Apna was a failure then, and the reason many believe was the overconfidence that pitching both the Khan's would automatically make the movie a hit. The strategy actually backfired and fell apart at box office collections. Many say the banners and posters were not finished even a week before the release of the movie. While the mystery surrounding its lacklustre first run continues to grow with each passing year, the last twenty-seven years have seen the film transform into a cult classic whose charm only increases with each viewing.

Andaz Apna Apna is one of the finest comedies that Hindi Film Industry has produced to date. Its humour was way ahead of its time and stays relevant even today. The way the characters trolled each other is simply super amusing. Almost every scene is meme-worthy and is worth the watch. There is no scene where you don't smile or laugh. The plot has been so well written that one doesn't get bored at all. It's a roller coaster laughter & madness trip. And acting by every single character is flawless...subtle and tongue in the cheek, making it legendary.

Every time one watches the film, it lightens one's mood. Kudos to Raj Kumar Santoshi & the Team for giving us 160 minutes of 'Pure Happiness'. No wonder, it has achieved cult status in the comedy genre.

Plan in the holidays ahead, to see this movie with your loved ones.... have some popcorn ready.... trust me the best combination anyone can dream of.

A bang on 5 stars out of 5 for this outstanding charismatic extravaganza.
