Tools and Strategies for students who need to learn from home

Teachers who are teaching face-to-face will be able to select from a range of tools and strategies that will both support the learning of those students not physically in class along with the face-to-face students.

These include:

  • Using Google Classroom as a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver and store learning experiences and resources.

  • When delivering lessons via technology using tools such as Screencastify to record the lesson (automatically saved to Google Drive). The link to the screen recording of the session can be added to the LMS for all students to benefit from.

  • Many schools have a Swivl, an auto-tracking tool that allows teachers to record their lessons with their own camera/phone/iPad. The recording of the lesson can then be uploaded to the LMS. A Swivl is also often used as a tool to enable teachers to self reflect on their lessons.
