Some feedback from CEDoW schools on remote learning in 2020 Phase One:

Students (and parents) felt overwhelmed by the amount of work teachers gave them.

They struggled to understand what to do and when to do it.

Teachers felt frustrated having to answer all the questions for help.

SIgnificant learning time was lost through students navigating their way through all the instructions.

These issues can be reduced through the use of clear, simple instructions using explicit teaching strategies. These can reduce cognitive load and aid understanding.
