Device specifications

Families need to consider that, as iPad software evolves, not all features will be accessible on the older iPads.

Students in year 7, 2022 should have an iPad no older than 3 years. The latest standard iPad (at the end of 2021) comes with 64 Gb and is priced around $500

Ideally, the iPad should have at least 32 Gigabytes of memory to allow for adequate storage for Apps and resources.

The iPad Mini's display is too small for the school use and the College has decided that these devices cannot be used as part of the year 7 iPad program.

If the iPad comes with the facility for a SIM card, the SIM card must be removed whilst on the College Campus. All Internet access will be supplied through the College's network.

Students need to have a protective case for the iPad. The College recommends a slim, all-in-one case that protects the screen and automatically puts the iPad into standby mode when the case is closed. The case should have the student's name prominently placed on the cover.

Families should not purchase any Apps specifically for school use. The College will purchase a core set of Apps for every student.

Apple pencils and separate keyboards are most welcome accessories however are not mandatory.

iPads need to brought to school each day unless notified otherwise.

The iPad should be fully charged at the beginning of each school day.

Students will use their iPads to access their Digital Textbooks and Cloud Services
