Apple IDs

All students need to have their own Apple ID assigned to their iPad so they can manage their own Applications and personal data, settings and resources.

Students need to be 13 years old before they can acquire an Apple ID, however the Apple ID can be setup by a parent or caregiver and parents can monitor the purchases and downloads made by their son or daughter. Credit cards should NOT be associated with the student's Apple's ID.

If students use a shared family Apple ID text messages, emails and other communications intended for someone else in the family will be received by the student. Other personal data like contact details, music, videos, documents will be mixed up with another family member's setup. It will become obvious very quickly that iPads are personal devices and work best with one owner and one Apple ID.

Apple IDs can be created and edited for free without having a purchased iPad.
