Dominion Ridge Academy proudly congratulates the Class of 2024 on their exceptional achievements throughout their educational journey. These graduates have exemplified competence, confidence, and belonging as leaders within our school community. We are immensely proud of their growth and the outstanding individuals they have become.
We are thrilled to announce that the Class of 2024 has received over $370,000 in scholarship offers. Our seniors' hard work and dedication have been recognized through their acceptance to a diverse array of esteemed institutions, including Bridgewater College, Christopher Newport University, Eastern Mennonite University, Hollins University, Lee University, Mary Baldwin University, Messiah University, Norwich University, Randolph College, Regent University, Roanoke College, University of Lynchburg, University of the Pacific, University of Wyoming, and Virginia Wesleyan University.
In addition to those pursuing higher education, we are also proud to acknowledge our seniors who have chosen to pursue trades, underscoring the value and importance of skilled trades in our community.
As they embark on new beginnings, we are reminded of the words from Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." May this promise guide and inspire our graduates as they move forward.
Please join us in congratulating our Class of 2024. From left to right: Mason Smedley, Thomas Hartley, Kendra Thompson, Emma Tutton, Braeden Majors, and RJ Johnson.
It is our privilege to share our cherished Candle Ceremony, a long-standing tradition at Dominion Ridge Academy. This event symbolizes the passing of the torch from the graduating Class of 2024 to the rising Class of 2025. Each senior lights a candle for a junior, representing the transfer of wisdom and the responsibility of leadership in the school.
As our Class of 2024 nears graduation, we celebrate their journey and the beginning of new adventures, welcoming our rising Seniors ready to shine!
As the school year is winding down it is important to look at routines during the summer for several reasons. While it is tempting to go be carefree, here is what you need to know.
Consistency: Maintaining a routine helps kids feel secure and know what to expect each day. Consistency provides a sense of stability, which is important during times of change, like the transition from school to summer break.
Time Management: Summer can easily slip away without structure, leading to wasted time or procrastination. A routine helps kids manage their time effectively, balancing fun activities with responsibilities like chores and summer reading.
Healthy Habits: A routine can incorporate healthy habits like exercise, nutritious meals, and sufficient sleep. With more free time during the summer, it's important to reinforce these habits to support kids' physical and mental well-being.
Preventing Summer Slide: Without regular academic stimulation, kids can experience a decline in skills over the summer, known as the "summer slide." Incorporating educational activities into their routine helps prevent this regression and keeps their minds engaged.
Socialization: Summer routines can include scheduled time for socializing with friends or participating in activities. This helps kids maintain social connections and develop important interpersonal skills.
Independence and Responsibility: Following a routine teaches kids valuable life skills like planning, organization, and self-discipline. As they take ownership of their schedule and responsibilities, they become more independent and prepared for the future.
Overall, establishing a routine in the summer provides structure, promotes healthy habits, supports both academic and social development, but it also cultivates important life skills that benefit kids long-term.

THANK YOU! We are here because of you!
Sometimes, to feel cheered up, we just need to look down! Our 6th graders in Mrs. Coffman's class filled the pick-up area with encouraging scriptures in chalk. Though the rain has since washed them away, the positivity remains!
