We are excited to announce that DRA has been approved to participate in Give Local Piedmont, a 24-hour day of giving aimed at empowering organizations like ours. Join us on Tuesday, May 14th as we raise support and awareness about some of the amazing programs here at DRA, enabling our students to make a difference in our school, community, and beyond.

We are reminded by Galatians 5:13 (NIV) that "You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free…serve one another humbly in love." The generosity of our families and donors has empowered us to offer opportunities to serve, and to continue the legacy of Christian education in our area.

For every donation made to the school during this 24-hour period, opportunities to earn additional funds are available. This year, there are some really fun prizes, including some for organizations with the most donations and the most donations from various states.

There are no more Friday fundraiser lunches. The last day to order lunch items online is May 16th. PA will be selling Sugar Creek ice cream for $5 on Wednesdays for the duration of the school year which can be purchase with cash only. Thank you for your support!

Athletics

ARCHERY-🏹Our incredible Archers have made it to Nationals in Kentucky May 9th-11th. Lets cheer them on and wish them the best of luck!!

BASEBALL-⚾ Baseball notched a dominating win this week vs RMA and battled in-state power the Highland School Thursday. Next week they complete their season with a Monday game at Millbrook HS.
VOLLEYBALL-🏐 Open gym for girls- Practices are optional and will run Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 until 5:30 through May 15. Please have a VHSL physical on file with Mrs. Thompson before attending open gym.

Peer influence or peer pressure as it is better known can be a blessing or curse. Peer influence is when another person influences someone to act or do something a certain way. Everyone has peers, they can be similar in age or interests, and maybe they are friends but sometimes not. Your peers will change over time, but one thing remains the same, they influence your decisions.

Peer pressure can be positive or negative. When peer pressure is positive, it pushes you to be your best. Negative peer pressure is when someone who is a friend or part of a group you belong to makes you feel that you must do something to be accepted. It’s the negative peer pressure that we usually think of when the phrase peer pressure is used. When you give in to negative peer pressure, you often feel guilty or disappointed with yourself for acting in a way that goes against your beliefs or values.

Please remember to have this conversation with your child and remember what the Bible says about who we surround ourselves with.
