How have your past project experiences influenced your leadership style, and how do you leverage those insights to drive success in your current role?
As I immersed myself in various extracurricular experiences, I learned how to navigate different working styles and personalities while working across different areas of projects. These experiences sharpened my ability to manage teams effectively and taught me to adapt my leadership approach based on both the needs of the task at hand and the dynamics of the team. I also learned the value of two-way leadership, knowing when to lead and when to follow, by remaining open to feedback, creating space for others to contribute and correct, and actively supporting the people I work with because I believe growth happens through mutual assistance. This balance allows me to consider both the technical needs of the project and the interests of the team, fostering collaboration and driving success.
As an Assistant Vice President for Management, my role is to cater to the needs and interests of Management students, BMS members and the rest of the Lasallian community through developing events and seminars that contribute to their personal, academic and career development. It’s one thing to know what our participants need, and it’s another to bridge them to great opportunities that can foster their growth dynamically. I believe that our events are avenues for such. With that, being part of the Management committee enabled me to learn better the value of empathy, creativity and adaptability, in pursuit of quality and excellence when it comes to creating these events. Because of this, the MGT committee continuously develop more fulfilling and engaging events for our participants.
My past project experiences have shaped my leadership style to be collaborative, adaptable, and grounded in empathy. Leading and assisting in various BMS events taught me the importance of clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and empowering others to take ownership of their roles. I’ve learned to anticipate challenges, stay composed under pressure, and guide teams with a balance of structure and flexibility. In my current role, I apply these insights to foster a supportive environment that drives both individual growth and collective success.

As an AVP, I apply these insights by setting clear goals, encouraging open feedback, and supporting my team to take initiative. This approach helps drive success by keeping everyone aligned, motivated, and ready to overcome challenges together.
My past project experiences taught me the importance of adaptive leadership, where I tailor my approach to the specific needs activity. I learned to foster open communication and transparency, enabling team members around me to voice ideas and concerns freely. These insights allow me to help create more resilient and empowered teams in my current role, promoting collaboration and ultimately driving project success through continuous improvement.
In past projects, I developed a considerate leadership style by taking time to understand each team member’s strengths and responsibilities. This approach allowed me to delegate more effectively and foster collaboration built on mutual respect. In my current role, I apply these insights to anticipate challenges and adapt plans based on team dynamics. As a result, I’m able to guide the group toward outcomes that are both efficient and inclusive.

How do your initiatives for IBS students support their growth while advancing the organization's mission and strategic objectives?
Empowering through excellence goes beyond fulfilling my responsibilities as a vice president. For me, it implies leading with example; ensuring that my committee and the APC students we serve witness the empowered excellence, not only through our events and activities but through the leadership we exhibit as a committee and as students. In the same way, humanistic management is not just an “add-on” to our initiatives; rather, it is embedded in the very culture BMS and the APC committee cultivate, guiding our commitment to excellence.
What drives the APC program forward is something deeper than just achieving professional excellence, but the collective desire to lead with impact and purpose, no matter the organization we are in. As an Assistant Vice President for APC, I strive to anchor my role with this belief through empathetic leadership to better connect with the people I am working with and understand what drives them in pursuit of becoming their best selves. This is important in carrying out our committee’s initiatives that promotes the holistic growth of our stakeholders as the world demands business leaders to become more human-centred and socially conscious. I also see this commitment reflected in how I guide my two mentees, where I focus on empowering them to trust their inner compass and take proactive steps toward becoming the leaders they envision themselves to be.
As an Assistant Vice President for Applied Corporate Management, I work closely with the committee to ensure our initiatives offer a space that recognizes the inherent value of people and their power to ignite change. From highlighting the importance of emotional intelligence to redefining the impact interns can make, we align our activities and strategies with the goal of promoting human welfare and potential, especially as students prepare to enter the workforce. We aim to empower tomorrow's leaders to uphold excellence and put people first in their endeavors, both within and beyond the walls of the university.
I align my role with BMS’ vision by fostering open communication, collaboration, and mutual respect within our committee. By recognizing the importance of each other's role in the committee, we empower each other while ensuring that every member feels valued and heard, all while actively working toward a common goal. Our teamwork, faith, and support for one another allow us to uphold excellence while staying true to the humanistic principles of Applied Corporate Management. Through consistent support and teamwork, we grow stronger as a unified body, able to reach our fullest potential.
Through my role, I help bring to life initiatives that combine high standards of excellence with a heartfelt focus on each individual’s well-being. As both prioritize meaningful growth that values people, the organization’s vision of empowering through excellence naturally aligns with the principles of humanistic management. In every project, no matter how small, we strive to create impact that truly reflects the best of both.
