Rehearsals are crucial to the success off the individual and the success of the ensemble. "Rehearsal Strategies" has been identified as a priority standard in all District 100 Vocal Music Ensembles. BNHS rehearsal strategies include (but are not limited to):
Be in assigned place on time with a pencil for completing work or marking music.
Place cell phones in the cellphone station (THE PHONE ZONE) per D-100 BOE policy.
Have all other non-choral materials placed under their chair, out of sight, and out of mind (this includes ALL other personal electronic devices).
Have all required music and additional materials as assigned by the directors.
SHOW ENSEMBLES must wear dance-appropriate shoes for all rehearsals. Members of show ensembles should wear their performance dance shoes for at least one week’s rehearsals prior to the performance.
Stay on task; participate (sing) all songs and warm-ups. Do not distract others.
Refrain from eating food, candy, or gum: NOTE: Food and/or beverages are prohibited in all classrooms. Water, however, is allowed.
Refrain from applying cosmetics or grooming hair.
Students should refrain from spraying perfume, cologne, hairspray, or other irritants in the 1100 wing including room 1108.
Attendance during rehearsals is vital to success and development. In the event that a student misses a key rehearsal, or if repeated absences occur, the student may be asked to sit out from the group performances. Make-up rehearsals are at the director’s discretion.
