Prelude is a chamber ensemble that typically consists of about 12 - 18 orchestra members. Prelude is currently offered to 7th and 8th grade students through an audition process. Students selected for this orchestra will participate both in PSO along with Prelude. This ensemble is offered as an extension to what the students are currently working on in PSO, and will provide for more opportunities to play music that is considered to be more challenging than what the full ensemble would typically perform. Rehearsals for this ensemble occur once a week, in addition to the rehearsals and lessons scheduled for PSO. Prelude rehearses on Mondays after school from 3:30 - 4:15 pm. These rehearsals will not begin right away to provide ample time for the audition process.Â
