Intermediate Orchestra is currently offered to 6th grade students who previously joined the orchestra program or to 5th grade students who have at least one year of playing experience on a stringed instrument. Students in Intermediate Orchestra have the opportunity to continue learning skills on the instrument they selected in Beginning Orchestra (either Violin, Viola, Cello, or Bass). Students will meet twice a week for a full ensemble rehearsal and then once a week for a small group lesson with students who have selected the same instrument as them. In Intermediate Orchestra, students will continue to grow in the skills that were established in Beginning Orchestra while learning new playing techniques, new notes on the instruments, new music theory concepts, and new music terminology. While learning the instrument that they have selected, students will also be given the opportunity to perform in concerts throughout the year.
Intermediate Orchestra this year is utilizing Remind to send updates home regarding lessons, rehearsals, performances, etc. Stay up to date by clicking this link and enabling notifications!
