My goal is to be an effective digital leader that delegates responsibility, encourages teachers to innovate, and evolves during these changing times. VILS has provided the opportunity to embed 21st century skills within reliable learning frameworks. I am looking forward to being able to turnkey learning activities grounded in sound pedagogy, specifically including technology integrated with purpose and aligned to the acquisition of new skills and demonstration of conceptual mastery. We are excited that more authentic learning will occur, and more students will be prepared to compete in the real world as a result of our participation in this program.
My "why" for being part of the VILS program is to implement strategies, tools, and concepts designed to make teaching and learning more future-focused and equitable. My hope is to leverage resources to create a culture of opportunities for student content creation such as podcasting, videocasting, and genius hour, strategies for differentiated instruction such as layered curriculum and choice boards, and practices to enhance student engagement such as thinking routines and classroom centers. I plan to utilize my strengths and expertise as a Google Certified Educator, Microsoft Certified Educator, Nearpod PioNear, Flipgrid Ambassador, WeVideo Certified Educator, and Wakelet Ambassador.
