12th Grade
You've made it your senior year at PDHS! This year, you'll be applying to colleges, trade schools, apprenticeships, enlisting in the armed forces or getting a job. You'll need to make sure you stay on track for graduation and maintain good grades. Here are some tips to have a successful 12th grade:
Senior Meetings: Check in with your counselor to be sure you’re on track for graduation
Take SAT/ACT as needed in the fall
If attending 2-year community college:
Submit community college application
Submit FAFSA (financial application) Tentatively open Oct 1st, due March 2nd for Cal Grant consideration
Complete senior portfolio to apply for local scholarships
Apply for other scholarships
If applying to 4-year universities:
Submit college applications & CSU/UC applications (October 1-November 30)
Check private universities' early admissions and deadlines
Submit FAFSA (financial application) Tentatively open Oct 1st, due March 2nd for Cal Grant consideration
Complete senior portfolio to apply for local scholarships
Apply for other scholarships (Check the Counseling Google Classroom often!)
Submit Letters of Intent in May
Request final transcript to be sent to the university you're attending (see Transcripts page)
Graduate!
Information about end-of-the year activities will be shared in the Spring
All graduating seniors are required to complete the senior clearance process that will authorize their participation in all senior activities including the graduation ceremony and grad night.
