SADDLE UP
LQ Track and Field completed their first meet of the year at the Saddle Up Invitational at Vista Murrieta High School Saturday. The Blackhawks competed against 31 schools in both Varsity and Frosh/Soph divisions for girls and boys. The Blackhawks compiled overall medals between all levels and will compete this Saturday in the Sparta Relays at San Gorgonio High School

The girls 4x800 won the event with a 9:33.90 ( a new LQHS school record) which is currently ranked #6 in CAL (Alyssa Lopez, Taylor Leon, Raisa Guerrero, Saverah Guerro)
The same group ran the Distance Medley 4k in 12:37.99 and placed 4th but also ranked in CAL at #15
The boys 4x800 broke the LQHS school record in a time of 7:59.81 placing 2nd . The time ranks them 7th in CAL. (Angel Lerena, Rudy Mendoza, Jorge Mendoza and Luis Martinez)

Girls 4x400 relay placed 3rd in the open division in a season best 4:07 (9th overall) (Sienna Coffin, Leon, Guerro, Guerreo)
Boys 4x400 won the open race and placed third overall in 3:23.55 which is 24th in the state (Angel Lerena, Aidan Simo, Luis Martinez, Rudy Mendoza)
Boys 4x100 won the open race in an LQHS school record time of 42.31 taking 4th overall (Simon Simonian, Aiden Nsubuga, Aidan Simo, Major Hinchen
Major Hinchen broke his own school record placing second in the open division and 7th overall 10.81.
Five La Quinta athletes and five relays meet the "consideration" qualifying marks for the prestigious Arcadia Invitational which begins Friday April 11th.
La Quinta Boys and Girls are both 3-0 in DEL and compete against Rancho Mirage Thursday. If all plays out as expected it will be Shadow VS LQHS for the league title at La Quinta April 17th.

LQHS T&F competed at the Sparta Relays Saturday. LQHS took home first place boy's team Varsity and 2nd place frosh soph. and 2nd place for the girls team. The boys long jump and triple jump relays set SCHOOL RECORDS in the events along with first place finishes.

COUGAR CLASSIC-Beaumont High School
At the Beaumont Cougar Classic, the LQHS track and field team won their second track invitational of the year. The frosh soph boys took first while the varsity boys, varsity girls and frosh soph girls took home second place. There were over 20 teams who participated.

#4 Long Jump record claimed by Aidan Simo at 21'-0.25"!!! Best jump of ANYONE at the meet today (including VARSITY).

MT CARMEL ASICS CLASSIC
The LQHS track and field team traveled to Mt Carmel High School 3/23/25 and competed against ONE HUNDRED high schools.
The 4x800 Team broke the school record during this event and are hopeful to get into the prestigious Arcadia Invitational Track Meet April 5-6 with their qualifying time.
There were three different divisions that were based on qualifying entry times. Top five places medaled.

INLAND EMPIRE CHAMPIONSHIPS
LQHS track and field team traveled to the Inland Empire Championships at Vista Murrieta High School on Saturday. Kameron Hawkins took third in the triple jump and set a new LQHS school record with a jump of 44'-06.5". The frosh soph boys team placed third out of over 45 high school teams and broke one F/S Record
