Students are expected to follow the rules while they are present in a Physical Education Class. Referrals will be given out to students who do not follow these rules which are posted on the class syllabus, reflected on during class time and posted in the locker room.
Students who "forget" their PE clothes from home are able to borrow "loaner clothes" from the PE office. Students must check in their LQHS school ID badge and pick it up after returning the uniform. Students who excessively borrow loaner clothes will have a conference with his/her PE teacher about the "routine" borrowing of school uniforms and how the student can remember their own uniform on a daily basis. Loaner clothes are not to be used daily and will result in point loss similar to a non suit if the behavior continues.
Students who choose not to dress out in any type of PE uniform will be documented as a NON SUIT. Non suits are required to complete the attached assignment on this page by the next school day. This assignment requires a parent/guardian signature. Students who return the make up assignment the next school day will retain points lost from the defiant act.
Students with injuries that limit or deny the student an opportunity to earn points for a brief period are given the option to earn those lost points by completing an assignment the relates to the amount of activity time missed for the illness/injury. Students who are required to miss over 30% of the semester will required to retake the class in summer school or in the following year high school. The majority of this class is activity based and cannot be made up solely with written assignments.
Education Code Section 51222 provides for 400 minutes of physical education every ten school days for students in grades seven through twelve.
