Use of Space & Time

Current Practices:

• Updated High School, Middle School, and Heritage libraries to best utilize our learning spaces

• Provides opportunities for students to explore and create using a variety of materials

• Converted elementary and intermediate computer labs into makerspaces to focus on STEAM learning (inquiry, collaboration, creativity, community)

• Maintains shared library media center calendars

• Provides use of library space to school and the community outside of school hours 

  • Destination Imagination, parent groups, scouts, athletic meetings, after school programs

Opportunities for Growth:

• Continue to update furniture, shelving, flooring, lighting, etc. 

• Effectively integrate creative and technological tools

  • Green screens, videoconferencing, video creation, podcasting, stop motion videos

• Establish a long-range plan and shared vision for library spaces

• Increase flexibility for elementary Library Media Specialists to offer integrated lessons
