Facilitates Professional Learning
Leads professional learning to cultivate broader understanding of the skills that comprise success in a digital age (e.g., critical thinking, information literacy, digital citizenship, technology).
Current Practices and Artifacts:
Provides individualized and small group professional learning as requested
Communicates effective use of new and existing library resources
Tutorial videos, handouts, and emails
Maintains active membership in professional organizations
Opportunities for Growth:
Be provided with opportunities for all Library Media Specialists to attend conferences on a rotating basis
Be provided with time for collaboration between Library Media Specialists and teachers
Determine professional learning needs of staff and provide professional development based on these needs
Goal Statement:
The Library Media Specialists will provide staff with relevant professional learning centered around library resources and instructional technology at minimum one time per year.
Provide group training within each building for all new teachers by the end of October of each school year
Provide professional development for various resources as needed
