Leads in the selection, integration, organization, and sharing of digital resources and tools to support transformational teaching and learning and develops the digital curation skills of others.
Empowers Students as Creators
Encourages and facilitates students to become increasingly self-directed as they create digital products of their learning that engage them in critical thinking, collaboration, and authentic real-world problem solving.
Builds Instructional Partnerships
Partners with educators to design and implement evidence-based curricula and assessments that integrate elements of deeper learning, critcal thinking, information literacy, digital citizenship, creativity, innovation, and the active use of technology.
Current Practices and Artifacts:
Curates print and digital resources for staff and students
Collaborates with staff to promote student literacy and reading growth
Examples: reading challenges, book talks, Battle of the Books, book clubs, class checkouts, book fairs
Teaches digital citizenship in grades K-4 using Common Sense Media
Teaches research and information literacy lessons K-12 aligned with the Wisconsin Standards for Information and Technology Literacy
Collaborates with staff to build robust collections that support the curriculum
Supports the development and implementation of makerspaces to promote STEAM learning
Collaborates with literacy and technology coaches and talented and gifted department
Collaborates with staff to design/redesign content
Utilizes library website as a hub for learning in the content areas
Purchases educational resources to support curriculum needs
Elementary librarians manage each building's instructional book room

Improve collaboration between LMS and grade level teachers utilizing the new PLC schedule
Goal Statement:
By the end of the 2027-2028 school year, the Library Media Specialists will unpack and map the current Wisconsin standards K-12 for Information and Technology Literacy (ITL) for integration across our district.
By the end of the 2027 school year, ITL standards will be unpacked at all levels
Once ITL standards are unpacked, work with curriculum directors to map ITL standards with current curriculum
Conduct gap analysis to determine next steps
