Teaches and promotes student data and privacy through his or her instruction and role as an educational leader.
Current Practices:
Treats library records in accordance with board policy and state law
Library Media Centers (po2522)
Teaches privacy and digital citizenship within the K-4 curriculum
Common Sense Media Curriculum
Provides instruction and clarification surrounding the following district policy or agreements
Opportunities for Growth:
Strengthen digital citizenship in the 5-12 curriculum
Educate staff, students, and families about privacy of patron records
Research and curate a list of resources in collaboration with IT and curriculum directors that adheres to the student and data privacy laws (COPPA and FERPA)
Continue to seek out opportunities to educate ourselves further on the many laws surrounding student data and privacy issues
Collaborate with district IT department to discuss district data, privacy, and security
