Southeast Butuan District II was a part of the bigger Southeast Butuan District until it was divided into two in June 2010. It was first led by Mr. Rodrigo B. Cultura who served in the district until May 2012. Mrs. Rosemarie D. Olmedo became the new District Supervisor from June 2012 until January 2017. In the middle of January 2017, Mrs. Susana A. Encarguez took-over the supervisory task from Mrs. Olmedo – whose services was transferred to the SGOD of the Butuan City Division Office until December 2020

The district is currently under the supervision of Mrs. April Ann G. Bernabe formerly the Principal of Doongan Integrated School from January 10, 2021 up to the present. The district have nine (9) elementary schools and four (4) secondary schools – all of which are offering senior high schools.

The elementary schools are Florencio R. Sibayan Central Elementary School headed by Juvy S. Gregorio with twenty-seven (27) teachers, Buhangin Elementary School under Orben D. Arconada with seventeen (17) teachers, Mahay IS (Elem) under Rosabelle S. Cubillas with twenty-two (20) teachers, Don Gaudencio Santos Elementary School under Louie Jim A. Payda with nine (9) teachers, Aupagan Elementary School under Nicolas S. Orias with eight (8) teachers, Bilay Elementary School under Angelie C. Alvizo with eight (8) teachers, Cabaasan Elementary School under Maria Cristina J. Labetoria with five (5) teachers, Datu Santiago B. Ecleo Sr. Memorial Elementary School under Ronejul N. Guerta with fifteen (15) teachers, Masago Elementary School under Crisanto V. Cajes with three (3) teachers.

The secondary schools namely Mahay IS (Sec.) headed by Peterson A. Oropa with seventeen (17) teachers, Aupagan National High School under Rolan S. Capalar, PhD with eleven (teachers), Bilay National High School under Aldin A. Hermocilla, EdD with thirteen (13) teachers and Maguinda National High School Norman G. Almirol with twenty-one (21) teachers.

There are 186 personnel in the district, including the District Supervisor, school heads, administrative assistants, ALS Abot-Alam, substitute and LSB teachers as of this writings 2021.

Southeast Butuan District II is a combination of upland and lowland schools: six (6) upland and seven (7) lowland elementary and secondary schools. The Southeast Butuan District II Office is located at Florencio R. Sibayan Central Elementary School in Baan Km. 3, Butuan City in front of the Filinvest Site.
