Announcement: The National Uploading and Validation of the WASH in Schools (WinS) Program for SY 2025-2026 is now open.
Alternative Delivery Modes (ADMs) in school, particularly within the Philippine Department of Education (DepEd), are flexible, learner-centered education programs designed to improve access and reduce dropout rates for students facing circumstances preventing regular classroom attendance. ADMs provide tailored, quality basic education outside the traditional school system, allowing students to learn at their own pace.
Purpose: To support learners at risk of dropping out (SARDO), those in crowded schools, or students with geographical or social constraints.
Methods: ADMs include Modular Distance Learning (printed modules), Online Distance Learning, and Blended Learning.
Examples of Programs:
MISOSA (Modified In-School, Off-School Approach): Children alternate between in-school and home-based learning.
e-IMPACT (Enhanced Instructional Management by Parents, Community, and Teachers): A peer-tutoring system.
Open High School Program (OHSP): Designed for secondary students who cannot attend regular classes.
Homeschooling: Parents or guardians take full responsibility for the child's education, guided by a school.
Structure: Unlike temporary school-level interventions (like distributing modules during disasters), ADM is an official, DepEd-approved program with specific guidelines and accredited modules.Key Personnel: Often supported by an ADM Focal Person in schools who manages the program.
ADMs empower learners by offering alternative, often home-based or flexible schedules, ensuring continuity of education regardless of their circumstances.
