SPTA stands for School Parent-Teacher Association. It is a type of parent-teacher association (PTA) specifically for a single school. These organizations are designed to foster collaboration between parents and teachers to support student learning and well-being.
Purpose:
SPTAs aim to improve the quality of education and promote the welfare of students within a specific school.
Structure:
An SPTA typically has a Board of Directors (BOD) and elected officers, including a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and auditor.
Membership:
Membership usually includes parents or guardians and teacher representatives from the school.
Activities:
SPTAs engage in various activities, such as organizing school events, fundraising for school projects, and facilitating communication between parents and teachers.
Federated PTAs:
SPTAs can also be part of larger federations at the municipal, city, or provincial level, called Federated PTAs.
