The First Grand Alumni Homecoming of Mabuno Elementary School has finally come and we had celebrated it as it was planned on April 24, 2015. At 6:30 in the morning, all alumni gathered infront of Mabuno Elementary School for a motorcade. The parade started from the yard of the school to Barangay Piña Este. A group of alumni came and partcipated including Mr. Nickoye V. Bumanglag our principal and Ma’am Alice Dupaya, a retired teacher from Piña Este and an alumna of this school. Upon reaching their place all went back and proceeded until Agnaoan Primary School. It was about 9:00 am when we finally gathered again in the school for the formal program. But before we started the program, all were called to take the snacks and made some exchange conversations among our classmates before.
After the snacks, the program has begun. Pastor Dominador G. Pascual Jr. an alumnus of Batch 1984 led the prayer, followed by the act of Filipinism that was conducted by Mrs. Lean Dela Cruz, alumna, of Batch 2000. Mr. Reynaldo C. Alejo gave his opening remarks and he welcomed everyone who were present in the very special occasion. Mrs. Virginia A. Corpuz also presented the delegates from different clusters. She started from the oldest group, Cluster-I (1965-1975) and there were 15 who were present. Cluster 2 (1976-1986), 28 who were present, Cluster 3 (1987-1995) 33 were present, cluster 4 (1996-2005) 28 were present and cluster 5 (2006-2015) 25 were present. A total of 129 alumni present. There were those who did not come but gave their pledges.
There were intermission numbers presented by the different batches. Mrs. Alicia Dupaya introduced to us the Keynote Speaker in the person of no other than Mr. Nickoye V. Bumanglag, an alumnus of this school who have become very successful in his chosen profession. He is one of the many alumni who is worthy enough to emulate because of his good contributions with regards to education. We ended the Part II of the Program with a community singing conducted by Mrs. Myriam M. Garo.
For the Part III, all Alumni Officers were inducted through the Barangay Captain Mrs. Lourdes Dela Cruz, as the Induction Officer.
We ate our delicious lunch together by cluster. Each batch prepared a parlor game for the group. There were also singing contest and search for Mr. Pogi Alumni. Each cluster was presented by an alumnus. Mr. Nicomedes Garma, Jr., Mr. Nickoye V. Bumanglag, Mr. Hernes Ramos and Mr. Edmund Macugay Jr. were the contestants. The hall was filled with laughter when the contestants went up on the stage and walked as a model using the umbrella, sandal and a fashion bag. Mr. Hernes B. Ramos was the winner of the search.
We ended the program happily and successfully. We went home with smiles in our hearts because for how many years now, we have seen some of our classmates and friends again. And above all, we have seen our school, our alma mater, where we were molded as good citizens.#aggaro
