Graduation Day Schedule

Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 6:00 AM -- Students will arrive at the school gym by 6:00 AM. Light breakfast and drink will be served. Students should be wearing their cap & gown.

Students must ride the free charter buses from Chamblee High School to the Graduation site. Location: The Convocation Center at Georgia State University

Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 8:00 AM -- Parking opens for family and guests. See the Family FAQ for free parking lots and handicapped-accessible lots.

Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 9:00 AM -- The Graduation Ceremony has a program that will be followed. It takes approximately 1 hour.

Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 10:15 AM -- Graduates returning home with their families should walk up the sidewalk on Pollard Street to the Guest Entrance on Capital Avenue to meet up with their parents. Volunteers/Public Safety will be present.

Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 10:15 AM -- Charter buses depart the graduation venue. A free charter bus is available for any student who wishes to return to the school on the bus. Seniors are advised, on arrival, to tell Ms. Peyton, Ms. Miller, or another faculty member that they intend to return to CHS on the bus. Graduates must walk directly to the charter bus after the ceremony, or they will be left. The venue security clears us out because the next high school is arriving very soon after we leave.

Congratulations to the Class of 2024! All guests attending the 2024 Graduation Ceremonies will be required to enter through Weapons Detection Devices. Graduation Central is your one-stop shop forwww.dekalbschoolsga.org/graduation/

Students get 12 Graduation Tickets. Children need tickets.
DCSD faculty and staff, not working the event need a ticket.
DCSD faculty and staff working on the floor with the graduates should be in their regalia.
Graduates must ride the bus to the graduation venue.
Parents and guests may park in the designated lots starting at 8:00 AM, for free.
Handicapped spots are in all lots listed but only some will have golf cart assistance.
NO balloons, posters, signs, banners, or presents may be brought into the venue.
Clear Bag Policy.
Parents and Graduates will not be permitted to meet in the venue before graduation.
Graduates who plan to leave the venue with their parents or guardians should walk up the sidewalk on Pollard Street to the Guest Entrance on Capital Avenue to meet up with their parents. Volunteers/Public Safety will be present.
