Stability in occupation is a task that should be done by oneself. There are at least 5 responsibilities for everyone to gain knowledge and self-reliance, which are:

- Roles and duties in business

- Resource management in business

- Production management in business

- Logistics management in delivery of products

- Research and development


1.1 Definition of Stability in doing business


Stability in Occupation means condition of continuity and endurance in business. Not changing directions.

Roles and duties means roles and duties of the business owner in doing business deeply by his own.

Resource management means controlling the use of resources as indicated in the business

Production management means controlling the production by manpower or by machine power

Produce means the results of farm production such as growing mango trees, the produce are mangoes

Product means the thing created by someone such as producing preserved turnip, the product is pickled turnip

Research for Occupational Development means exploring for data, methodology and conclusion for upgrading an occupation.



1.2 Commitment for Stability in Occupation

  Occupational expansion means that a business has some potential to expand activities, investment and people involved. Therefore, in establishing stability, it is necessary to have 5 responsibilities to sustain the occupation as follows

  1. The roles and duties of a business owner: He must set the business direction for the future with the direction related to the society and economics as well as the outlook for future changes. Two activities that should be done are as follow:

  1.1 Setting the vision carefully and specify the possible direction of what the occupation will be in the next 3 – 5 years. In developing the vision, the business owner has to search for knowledge and understanding. Then set the vision and check the possibility of the vision until satisfied with the vision.

  1.2 Planning for occupational development by enacting the vision, setting up commitments, analyzing commitments and strategies for success. Defining some indicators to measure success and develop the action plan.

  2. Resource management: This system will especially control the use of resources for the highest value, least damage and time savings: They are

  2.1 Managing manpower and putting the right man on the right job. Working effectively and producing as many products as possible with least input and least time consumption.

  2.2 The material control system and the factor of production in every step can prevent expiration or deficiency of products.

  2.3 Controlling every procedure in the finance, expenses and income system clearly.

  3. Production management: It is concerned about controlling the process of the operation. There are at least 3 activities as follows:

  3.1 Controlling workers to work as mentioned in the work plan step by step. Workers should not proceed with a task on their own schedule or follow their own experiences. If all workers proceed as specified in the handbook and an error is found, the administrator will be able to check back and find the cause of the error.

  3.2 Timing of the workflow at the planned speed

  3.3 Checking damaged products and comparing with good products. Then sort the bad products out of the good ones. This process will create trust and loyalty of customers.

  4. Product delivery management: It is important to develop a delivery system for products, according to the following steps:

4.1 Packaging: Good packaging encourages customers to purchase products. Therefore, to promote the business, packaging design should be neat, beautiful, and identify the product.

4.2 Logistics: Several solutions are available to deliver goods to customers safely from the private and government sectors or by self-delivery.

4.3 Delivery of documents: It is used to control and know how many products are delivered and received by customers.

5. Research and development: It is the business operation in order to be in trend and keep pace in change, for example:

5.1 Follow up on products which are popular.

5.2 Follow up and evaluate competitive products and their market acceptance.

  5.3 Research product development opportunities by searching for knowledge for product development to remain popular or follow market trends.


All 5 processes are the parts of creating business stability.



1.3 Creativity towards business stability

The creativity towards stability in occupation may be the guideline for a large business. Therefore, learners should create visions for their own business: What the plan is, how large the business is going to be and what we could do to achieve the goal.


Example: Business at “Thon Nuey” farm


  “Thon Nuey” farm is an expanded business in organic vegetable and fruit production with an area of 130 rai. The farm is managed by 3 family members. The creativity towards stability should be suitable for oneself. The business owner’s roles are setting directions and plans according to the business vision. Planning and controlling strategies and development must be energetic and mobilize all tasks as mentioned in the vision.
