"I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're doing something."
ā Neil Gaiman, English Author (1960- )

Review by Sophie Piro, 11th grade
One of Us Is Lying is a murder mystery about five students who walk into detention, but only four make it out alive. This book is captivating and thrilling, with an ending that I didnāt predict. It is full of suspense and it is fun to read the different characterās perspectives. If you like this book, there are two more that continue the story!

Scythe, one of a four-book series, is a fantastic dystopian novel. If you love Neal Shustermanās books, you should definitely read this series. Set in the future, the world has conquered death. However, in order to keep the population at a reasonable number, scythes are chosen to kill more than 200 people a year. Scythes act like the government in this dystopian world. The main characters, Rowan and Citra, are chosen to be a famous scytheās apprentice, who is known for choosing a different method of murder every time he gleans someone. Follow these two teenagers as they learn how to master the art of killing and what it means to be a scythe. This book is fast paced and keeps you hooked!Ā
