Don’t forget to let us know if you want to grab a book (or two or three) for these cold winter days. We'll be happy to help!
Wishing you all the best for 2021!

Beginning on February 1st --- All Blind Date with a Book resources will be released and shared with the DHS Community. Check your email!
Browse our digital selection of books. We will give you a few clues about each book, but we are not going to show you the cover or tell you the title or author.
Find a book you like and then complete our google form to let us know the # of the book you have chosen. (The form will be included in the February 1st email and will also be posted on the library's website.)
We will contact you by email to let you know how/when to pick up your book.
Once you get your gift-wrapped library book, unwrap it and start reading!
When you finish your book, complete the digital “Rate My Date” card to let us know what you thought of the "date" (book).
Return your book to the bin in the DHS Library or in the Main Office.
–Paulo Coelho, Brazilian author (1947-)
Many great movies got their beginnings as even better books. Check out Books into Movies, our virtual book display based on books which have been made into movies (and a few into TV series). Ms. Fares did an incredible job modifying our typical physical book display into a virtual display of over 200 books! If you find a book you would like to borrow, please complete the DHS Library Book Request Form and we'll get in touch with you.
—From The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen, American author (1971-)
Browse our catalog to see what's available! Please remember that all DHS students are welcome to borrow print books from our library, no matter if you are in a hybrid or a remote cohort. Simply complete the DHS Library Book Request Form. If you don't know what you want to read, we can make some suggestions through the form. Once you submit the request, we will be in touch about how, when, and where you can pick up your book.
Did you know that I am a big fan of eBooks? I love their portability and that I'm never caught without a book! I typically access my ebooks on my phone or my ereader device. I like that I can adjust the font and that I can easily look up definitions for new words as I am reading. If you have never read an ebook, I recommend giving one a try!

The editors of BookPage have shared Our Most Anticipated Books of 2021. Broken down by category, this list provides some exciting new titles! BookPage, a monthly book reviewing publication, also regularly publishes YA Book Reviews on their website. You should check them out, plus browse their other review categories too!
If you find books that you think we should add to our library's collection, please complete our book suggestion form. We may not be able to acquire all the books that are suggested, but we appreciate your help in maintaining a selection of books that will be of interest to our school community!
I will be offering weekly virtual office hours, typically on Wednesdays, for anyone who needs library support. Meeting details will be shared in a weekly email to all students. I hope many of you will participate. If you need help, but can't make it to a scheduled meeting, send me an email and we can always schedule a meeting for another time. I can also help answer some library questions through email.
Here are some things I can help you with during the virtual library office hours:
Finding a book to read
Using our new ebook and audiobook collection
Answering Chromebook/technology questions
Assisting with a school assignment
Using the research databases
Citing sources / using NoodleTools
Accessing material from the DPL / getting a DPL library card
Saying hello and checking in :)
