MS. BYARM

Ms. Byarm believes every child deserves to be seen, challenged, and celebrated. As Academic Coach at JYK Discovery Charter School, she partners with teachers and families to make learning joyful, rigorous, and personal for every student. You’ll find her in classrooms modeling lessons, co-teaching, and cheering on student growth—because the best coaching happens shoulder-to-shoulder with the people who matter most: our students and their teachers.

Her work centers on building strong relationships and clear routines that help children thrive. She supports teachers in planning standards-aligned units, using data to guide instruction, and creating small-group interventions that lift readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and historians. She leads gentle, practical professional learning, mentors new educators, and helps teams fine-tune classroom culture through restorative practices, SEL, and culturally responsive teaching.

Ms. Byarm also coordinates goal-setting cycles so students know what they’re working toward and can celebrate every milestone. She hosts family workshops that translate school language into everyday strategies, because learning grows fastest when home and school pull together. Whether it’s organizing tutoring, aligning supports in MTSS, or sharing simple tools that make a big difference, her mantra is the same: start with care, follow with evidence, and finish with celebration.
