About Me
Hi, my name is Kim English, and I am so grateful to be returning to Northeast for my sixth year as the school counselor and my eleventh year in education.
I grew up in a small town on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2010 and moved to Colorado within the same year. I taught Pre-K for one year and 1st grade for four years. In 2020, I completed a Master of Education in School Counseling with training in clinical mental health counseling, as well to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Being a school counselor has given me the unique opportunity to combine education and counseling, which are two fields that I am very passionate about.
I live in Castle Rock with my husband (Justin), 9-year-old son (Jameson), 2-year-old daughter (Selah), and our English Retriever (Elsa). In our free time, we love exploring all the beauty that Colorado has to offer. We are an active family and enjoy camping, hiking, skiing/ snowboarding, sports, church activities, and time together!
My goal as the school counselor at Northeast Elementary is to provide all students with the necessary skills to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. I support student development through classroom lessons, small groups, and short-term, solution-focused individual counseling. Please feel free to reach out to me to explore more about the school counseling services provided at Northeast. kenglish@dcsdk12.org
