Josh Jellison - Art Teacher

joshua.jellison@dcsdk12.org

As an educator Mr. Jellison's vision and passion is to actively engage in assisting students to see themselves as artists and appreciate art through offering multiple choices and experiences so each student can find ways to express themselves artistically. The curriculum is made up of multiple learning experiences that immerse students in a variety of authentic situations. These real-world experiences should prompt students to ask good questions, develop investigations, consider possible solutions and then communicate and act upon what they learn. Higher-order thinking skills are required and new knowledge is then applied in a real-world setting. Involvement with a greater community is intentional and technology is naturally integrated as an empowering tool for communication and creative work.
