Disneyland 2020 - Trip Details
The DCHS Music Department is going to Disneyland March 12-16, 2020.
Students and parents have until Feb. 1, 2019 to commit to the trip—commitment forms and payment plan info is on the attached forms. The cost of the trip is $1700 (includes airfare, hotel, breakfasts, two days at Disney, one day at Universal Studios, Disney music workshops/performances, LA Philharmonic concert, one dinner out, one beach day, and a trip to the LA Grammy Museum/Downtown Hollywood). See the handouts sent via email/given in class to sign up!
King Soopers Cards are a great way to help raise money for your child's orchestra Individual Student Account. With this account students can cover the cost of orchestra-related expenses for things like uniforms, field trips, instrument rentals, and more. Cards come pre-loaded with $5 and for every time you load the card, 5% of what you spend at King Soopers goes into your child's ISA! This is a very easy way to raise money. Cards are available at school for $5.
Beginning of the Year Handouts:
Please read the following handouts that were provided on the first day of school. The Handbook Agreement Form/Member Contract and Parent Profile Form found at the end of this document are due on August 20, 2018.
If your child has a prior commitment with one of our concerts, please turn in this form requesting an excused absence by September 1, 2018.

Orchestra Parent Organization
The orchestra cannot function without the help of our amazing parents. Research shows that students whose parents volunteer at their child's school gain insight into their child's academic and social skills, making it easier to help them at home. It also is correlated with higher student grades & test scores.
Our parent volunteers can help in a variety of ways including with selling concert tickets and serving refreshments, our spring orchestra banquet, fundraising, event planning, and in countless additional ways. Our boosters meet monthly during the year. Parents may also commit to specific events they enjoy helping with if they cannot commit to every booster meeting. Help is always needed, please consider getting involved!
Your Orchestra Parent Leaders for 2018-2019 are:
Amy Barr, President
Lisa Litteken, Vice President
Robin Johnson, Secretary
Mark Johnson, Treasurer
We are always looking for local businesses to feature in our programs. All sponsorships are tax-deductible and ads will be featured in all of our concert programs for the year. Silver, Gold and Platinum sponsors will also have ads featured on our projector screen before the concerts! Contact Mrs. Bruchs if you are interested.
