Sinfonia Orchestra

Sinfonia is an auditioned orchestra designed for students with at least two years of playing experience.

This ensemble will stress performance and study of violin, viola, cello, and bass in various styles of orchestral literature. During this class, the fundamentals of technique, vibrato, shifting, and sight reading will continue to be developed.

Sinfonia performs four or five formal concerts throughout the year. We also take several field trips to performance festivals and concerts. Participation at all performances is a requirement of this course.

For concerts, men purchase their own tuxedos. Women purchase the formal black concert dress which is ordered through the school.

Students typically rent their own instruments for home practice. School instruments are available to rent for $50 per semester.
