Concert Orchestra

The Concert Orchestra is open to all DCHS students. We welcome anyone who is interested in learning to play a string instrument. This class is for both new students to the orchestra and those continuing to refine their skills.

Students will learn the instrument of their choice: violin, viola, cello, or bass. Students will also focus on learning about a variety of musical styles—including rock, fiddling, world musics, classical, and jazz. There are four concerts per year as well as many fun social and music-related events.

For students who do not have their own instrument, school instruments are available for rent for $50 per semester. For concerts, students wear dressy concert black—black pants or a long black skirt, dressy black shirt, and black dress shoes. Students have the option of also purchasing the DCHS Orchestra uniform (tux or formal dress) this year which can be used for all four years of orchestra.
