Cloverleaf Students Make a Difference

Congratulations to Cloverleaf students—Hailey Fonseca, Mercedes Riley, and Jonathan Hubinger—for their award-winning efforts to make a difference in their community. After first exploring what it means to be a “generous leader,” these students embarked upon a semester-long service challenge. Specifically, they researched a social concern, interviewed those affected, and created a project to address those issues. Their team focused on the loneliness found in the elderly and addressed it by creating a music event to socialize, eat treats together, and share letters written by other students to add connection. They shared their work at a formal event in front of peers, parents, teachers, mentors, and judges. Competing against other Cloverleaf students this team was awarded a total of $750 in scholarships for their winning Big Idea Project.
