Jennifer Gentry
Middle School The Arts & Elemenatry TEAM Time

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!

I am excited to be teaching TEAM Time in elementary in the morning and The Arts with middle school in the afternoon!  I began this schedule in January, and I have loved working with all the elementary and middles school students.   I'm excited to be back for my third year teaching at Cloverleaf and to be working again with such a wonderful community of students, parents, and teachers.  In addition to my time at Cloverleaf, I have substituted for Douglas County School District for the past 7 years.  My husband and I have 4 children.  Our oldest son and daughter just graduated from Utah State University and both are working in their perspective fields.  Our middle son will be joining the Utah State ranks, and our youngest just graduated from Douglas County High School which means we will soon be empy nesters!  I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I'm excited for this next chapter of life!  I love spending time in the outdoors with my family boating, hiking, and playing pickle ball.  I look forward to teaching your children this year and feel truly blessed to be a part of their lives!

The Arts in MIddle School

I am thrilled to continue on with The Arts curriculum this year with the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students!  In The Arts, students participate, learn, and grow in the following 4 areas:

Art

Music

Theater

PE

We will spend a unit or two in each of these areas as we engage our right and left sides of our brain in a fun and exciting curriculum.  Here are a few of the things we will be going over this year:

PE- Olympic Unit, Pickle ball, Volleyball, Omnikin ball

Art- Self-Portraits, watercolors, famous artists, and backdrop design for plays

Music- Percussion, composers, dance, & music through the ages

Theater- practicing, performing and directing plays (collaborating with Language Arts to use student written plays), stage presence, costumes, and advertising for the play

TEAM Time

TEAM Time this year will be adapted from the Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) Foundation, "Kindness in the Classroom." Cloverleaf has used this curriculum in years past, and I am thrilled to be a part of it!

Kindness in the Classroom is a curriculum that covers six concepts:

This year, we will be focusing on the last three concepts—courage, responsibility, and integrity. Each concept is explored with four weeks of lessons and two weeks of projects.
