To access Google Classroom from home, your child will follow these steps:

• Go to google.com and click on the "Sign In" option at the top right of the screen.

• Google Sign in

  • On your parent letter, you will find your child's Google Gmail information provided by DCPS.

    1. Enter the complete email address for the username (including @stu.dcps.k12.va.us)

    2. Enter the password (making sure to use capital letters)

• Once your child is logged in, he/she will go to classroom.google.com to access Google Classroom.

• Clicking on the class that you choose to work in will take you to the assignments for that class.

One of the benefits of using Google Classroom is that you, or your child, can send questions about an assignment directly to your child's teacher. This video will demonstrate the process and how you can receive support directly from the classroom teacher.

Sending a Private Comment to Your Teacher:

• Click on the assignment you would like to complete.

• Choose "View Assignment".

  • Complete instructions and attachments will be found in this window.

  • On the right side of the screen, you will see "Private Comments"

  • Click on the text box and type your question.

  • Choose the send arrow to send your comment.

  • When the teacher responds, the response will be under the comment that you have sent.
